What do you think of the new ‘Design Bugs Out’ products?

Do you think they would make a difference in reducing HCAI’s (Healthcare Associated Infections)?

Do you think their success will depend on staff behavioural change?

Will they make your working life easier or more effective?

What other products deserve a redesign in order to reduce HCAIs?

Let us know what you think!

PS There is an identical thread running in the public forums if you would prefer to post there.

To be just a tad more erudite than the previous poster id say that they look well thought out and all that but im not sure about their effect. everyone is scared of cost and whos to say that they will get proper cleaning? if they look so easy to clean will people be tempted to give them a quick wipe and move on to save time????

Give us more time resource rather than fancy gadgets!

I think it's great to see any innovation to try to reduce HCAI's and raise the profile of the issues. It's really important that we all have input into the products that are being designed to go into our hospitals and some of these have not been looked at for years. The new porters chair looks particularly well designed - easy to clean but also very functional and this is one of the first items patients come into contact with when they come into the trust this new chair gives a really positive message about the standard that should be expected throughout the Trust.  The new lockable bedside cabinet looks great too.
