Posted about 1 year ago hi all, my name is cheryl, and i am in the second year of training, fast approaching the third year...i was just wondering though how many hours you need to complete your training according to the nmc. i can't find it anywhere on the site, and my university were a little cagey about giving out the amount of hours you had to do, and the amount of hours built into a course for sickness etc. also i have heard somewhere that you only need to complete 40% of your placement hours, is this true? |

| Posted about 1 year ago Whoever told you the 40% figure wants their bumps feeling. I think we were allowed to miss a total of 27 days (27 x 7.5 hours) over the three years, which, imo, is quite generous. Any more than that and you have to either go in on days off for placements, or write essays for uni time. Other unis will have something similar, and maybe tougher. |

| Posted about 1 year ago We are allowed up to 10 days sickness per year, anything over that and you have to make it up in your own time, this is quite generous and you should be aware that any future employers will have your sickness record given to them when they ask for a reference from the Uni!! |
