Hi all what will i expect with this ?! im due to start uni in sept and will be sent out an appt for this!? just curious as to what to expect!

its not so bad I've had mine done recently as I also start in Sept! they do bloods to check for chicken pox hep b hiv etc, have a brief chit chat about any issues, allergies, treatment history etc and give you any vaccination that you may need (ie if you havent had your MMR, or Meningitis)  and then you get a fitness to practice form! I had to have the dreaded BCG at mine urgh!

its the jab you have against Tuberculosis, its nothing really, just annoying whilst it heals!

Do the uni expect you to have 20/20 vison? do you have a eye test? I wear contacts and glasses to correct my vision do you see this asa problem? just stressing a little!!!!

lol No! I wear glasses and contacts too, I think if you had a vision defect that couldnt be corrected with lenses then it may need to be discussed as to your requirements for taking part in the course... dont worry! x

Hey,


Just wanted to say, don't worry! Occy health are lovely (newly qualified nurse), they will look after you. Just ask lots of questions about everything... that's the way you will learn as a nurse!
