You can get for £10 all the information for cautions, arrests, convictions etc held on the police national computer about you. I want this info before any College, Uni or employer does a CRB check on me so that i can be totally honest about my past teenage exploits (25 yrs ago). If you go to your local police station and explain your reasons and that you want a 'subject access request form SA1 (green)' they should help you. The form (printable) is also available from your area (county) police website, its all to do with the data protection act 1998 were you have the right to a copy of what is held on the police files about you. If you have any problems then give NACRO a call on 0207 8406464 and again explain your situation and they will be more than happy to help you with it.

Lol... I could not stop laughing when the guy from Nacro told me that David Cameron PM put out a statement (before someone outed him) that he had taken drugs in the past but has not done so since he's been called to parliament, lol.... honesty is the best policy. I hope this info helps anyone that may have any regrets from the past.

Hi I received a caution 5 years ago.  It was for something I did to my ex (now deceased) alcoholic partner.  I had come to the end of my teather with all of the domestic violence and having my home and possessions smashed up!  I threw an ashtray which hit him on the head causing him to bleed!  In a panic I took myself to the police station and was arrested and given a caution.

I am now approaching my 40's.  Have always want to become either a nurse or midwife.  I would need to do an Access to Nursing course but this caution is holding me back.  I am frightened to give up work and study only to not be allowed to become a nurse.
