i'm also starting in March 2011 myself, not at swansea, but at glyndwr in wrexham, so we come under the same bursary application process for wales.

I was told that basicly you can't apply for the bursary until jan 2011, because the welsh nhs do not consider funding for courses starting in 2011 until January.

My uni actually said they apply for me, on my behalf. so i won't need to send anything off.

I'm guessing that crb and health checks will prob be done at the same time. So i'd contact your particular uni for confirmation, but mine said wait till january basicly.

hey girlies, jus to let ya know my placement wasnt fully confirmed until near march unfortunately, it was confirmed around nov/dec but with conditions i passed a medical and references.....i didnt have my medical until jan....also i didnt get bursary forms or nothing......about 3 weeks before the course started i got a pack in the post with loadsa student info in and also an online enrollment username and password with a first week timetable.......once id enrolled online i could access my timetable for the term........that was it basically until we started!!   then the first week was an induction week we had talks on the course content and tours of the uni and also had a starterpack with our handbook, timetables and assignments in....it tells us what they are and the submission dates and dates of all our exams...for the 1st yr anyways (pretty handy)....all our bursary forms or family expense forms were with them we had to fill them in the first week and give them back....also got measured for uniforms the 1st week 2.....xxx
