| Posted about 1 year ago Hi i personally prefer trousers and tunic, much more practical.... however.. the trousers are old fashioned! high waisted with tapered legs - which suits me because i'm pretty old, but all of the young ones in my cohort whinge and cry about the trousers! some of them buy other styles, i dont think it is really allowed but no one seems to say anything. i dont like the dresses, they are slightly see through because they are white, so chose your underwear carefully! they are not very practical for manual handling and you have to wear tights, which can be expensive. i dont really understand why the trousers are so offensive to the fashion concious but the dress is acceptable! Just my opinions, students wear both so whatever you're most comfortable with really. why not get some of each? all the best |

| Posted about 1 year ago Hi. I have always went for trousers and tunic however when i started my new post i asked for one dress. I find it odd wearing a dress still however it can be quite comfortable in the warm weather ( just make sure the dress is below the knee so that there are no embarracing manual handling incidens!) I think if you are really unsure, ask for both or if you know someone who has a dress, try it on and see how you feel. p.s. i agree with the above statement about a careful choice of underwear, it is best with bridget jones style |

| Posted about 1 year ago I have always worn a tunic and trousers mainly because of manual handling.. I couldn't see myself doing a patt slide manouvre in a skirt, however in the summer I do envy those in a dress (unless I swindle scrubs!) But trousers allow you a few things; a two piece means that if you do by some accident get splashed your not having to find a whole uniform. You don't have to worry about tights getting ladderd or not having time to shave your legs lol You can get away with more comfy footwear in trousers.. trainers just look silly in a dress. As for the horrid trousers.. this is work wear, get a size bigger so you can put the hem up and it gets rid of the ankle huggers and high waist. I wouldn't spend good money on trousers knowing what can go on them :S I used to do that now I don't see the point.

| Posted about 1 year ago As a student nurse I've trained in trousers and tunic. I prefer them as I feel more protected from various splashes etc. As a HCA I do wear a dress, which as said before is lovely in the summer. I'd suggest like the other people here going for a mix of trousers & tunic & one dress if you can. I got three outfis changes for a student nurse uniform (I'm at Southampton). Hope that helps :) |

| Posted about 1 year ago Thanks for the opinions :) I think i might get like two tunics and maybe one dress for the summer and if i don't like it, i don't have to wear it i can always get another tunic uni pay for it after all :L

| Posted about 1 year ago hey i got my new uniform last week, exciting stuff. I got afew tunics and trousers as i thinks they are more practical in relation to moving and handling and 1 dress for variety. i think its personal preference, i would get one of each and find out which feels more comfortable for you as you can always buy more during the course ( if ya bursary allows it) lol |

| Posted about 1 year ago Tunics and trousers are more practical than dress. Whew! Can't imagine myself wearing a dress while running back and forth in the hospital. Missnurse is a product consultant for medical uniforms at Pulse Uniform. |

| Posted about 1 year ago musicmad123, im glad you had the choice to whether you wanted a dress or tunic and trousers! we only got tunics and trousers! so when i order my uniform for my job im definetly having dresses, i think they are smarter, however, tunics and trousers are more practical, probably because ive had to have tunic and trousers for 3 years, i want the opposite! x |
