can someone please advise.I am on a phased return to work after surgery for accident at work. Next case review was scheduled for month after fhased return. however. Was approached by manager who informed me he had recieved an e mail from occ heath stating date of next meeting and could he inform me of this....... My problem being, he sat at bottom of patients bedside where i was carring out a procedure, and sat waiting for me to finish. A peri arrest situation was also taking place in close promimity, so staff running about getting equipment.  I was due to finish my shift within ten minutes. Were he was sitting was in full view of wat was going on and in full view of two patients, relatives and a student. (hope this gives idea of what was going on).  Anyway..he proceded to inform me of date of meeting  and that he had looked at off duty and i was not to worry, it would not be a problem for me to attend.... I was totally flabergasted.  Firstly by the fact that he was discussig this in full earshot of patients and staff, and secondly.... I started shaking and got really upset, because i have all the emotion that goes with attending these meetings, cos basically it is to decide my future.  He then continued to say, now wat you should do ... i stopped his and said,, its ok i ll deal with it,,, again he continued and sais NO,, this is what you ll do, and again proceeded with a speech and again i stopped him and said ,, i will deal with it........i have absolutley no recollection of what happened next, , but there i am in changing room shaking like a leaf, angry an close to a breakdown........I came home and contacted union and left voice mail.. so far no one has been in touch.    Wat should i do ????????????????????

Best to keep contacting the union.

I agree, keep in touch with your union. Meantime, keep a diary of such incidents quoting what is said, who is present or witnessed and basically your feelings around it. You may even need to inform the manager what you are doing, as a means to ensure you can recall such incidents.  This may help to lessen the pressure (your manager may not like it and put him/her on guard) but they need to have some self awareness and you need an oppertunity to reduce the stress so you can respond clearly. Good luck

thanks for advice i am already doing all that , my problem being , it is the manager that informed me of this meeting, at bottom of patients bedside , in full view and earshot of everyone.  I feel my confidentiality has been breeched and also the unprofessional manner in which i was told....
