Posted over 2 years ago Hi, I hope you all had a good Christmas. I am pleased to tell you all that I have been shortlisted by the UWE for entrance onto the Mental Health Nurse (diploma) for September 2010. I am attending a selection day and interview in February. Whatever happens, I'm very happy to have made it this far. At 43, the odd thought had crossed my mind as to my age and maybe it is a bit late in the day to be doing this. A place on the course would be an absolute bonus so I am very happy. I'll let you know how it goes....
Happy New Year to all. |

| Posted over 2 years ago Good luck to you andys, keep us informed on how things go. As Marjorie pointed out you have accumulated lots of different life skills, which will come in handy during your training. When I did my learning disability training the cohort ranged from early twenties up to fifties, and everyone had something different to offer the group. I did my mental health conversion course at UWE and enjoyed it immensely. Kez

| Posted about 1 year ago Success in your interview, and remember age is no barrier to education. I recently completed my diploma in Nursing August last year. The interview is mostly based on numeracy, current nursing issues, communication skills etc. Finally, keep me informed on how it went. Ernest

| Posted about 1 year ago Thank you Ernest and all. Actually my interview is on Wednesday morning (Feb 24th). I am fine and well prepared for it so whatever happens will happen. I'll just enjoy the experience! I'm sure I won't hear the results on the day so I really don't know when these desicions are made. When I know the desicion, I'll post it on this thread. |
