A midwife can witness the 'miracle of birth' on a daily basis
ProNurse
Midwifery is much more than just acting as the stork that magically delivers the baby. Midwives help people trying to conceive, monitor the pregnant women, provide ante-natal advice, assist at the birth, help with breastfeeding, monitor the new mum’s health as well as the baby for at least the first ten days and… did we miss anything?
Midwives can work in a variety of settings and can be the sole person in charge during home births.
They can meet someone brand new every day!

I have 12 years midwifery practice including community and fetal medicine. I am trying to return to midwifery practice but have had no support from local hospitals. If anything, they have been obstructive. I thought there was a national shortage? I have now contacted the LSA for their help.
