Your Experience Matters

Whatever you’ve been doing in previous jobs and careers, it’s almost certain that the skills and experience you have will be transferable to a new job in the NHS.

Whether you still want to continue working full-time but are keen to change direction in your career, or want to work at a different pace for a few days a week, the NHS offers a huge range of possibilities for full and part-time working or volunteering.

If you studied a subject at university, which you did not pursue a career in, then it’s certainly not too late to begin something new.

With a music degree, you could apply for postgraduate training as a mature student to qualify as a music therapist for example. The talents, aptitude and abilities that you have been using, in whatever career or job you had, can be of enormous benefit to healthcare teams in the NHS as well as to the individuals, families and carers that they work with.

Perhaps you’ve spent your whole life caring for your family, helping your children grow up, looking after grandchildren – or even great grandchildren?

Even if you haven’t any formal qualifications or relevant work experience under your belt, you may have the kind of expertise, knowledge, insight and disposition that the NHS welcomes in all their staff.
