Job Description

Learning Disability Nurses help people with learning disabilities of all ages live their lives as fully and independently as possible. They work with their patients, families and carers to plan and organise the best way to meet the patients’ needs, working in patients’ homes, community centres and hospitals.

Salary

Enter at Band 5, with experience work up through each band to the level of Band 8a-c for Nurse Consultant.

Education Requirements

You need to be a Registered Nurse, specialising in Learning Disability Nursing during your three year diploma or a four year degree.

Job Outlook

There are many different places that Learning Disability Nurses can work ranging from the NHS to social services, residential nursing homes and even the prison service.
